Odd socks by Michelle Robinson and Rebecca Ashdown is a cute story of love lost and then found again!
The book is about a pair of socks Suki and Sosh who come to live in a drawer. They are extremely happy with their life together and have lots of fun. However Suki develops a little hole in her toe…….. which develops into a bigger hole ……. and then she disappears. Sosh is devastated and hunts everywhere for Suki…. Will he find his love again? There is a fantastic surprise ending that will make everyone smile!
This is a lovely sweet rhyming story for younger children. I love the simplistic, bold, colourful and fun illustrations. This story would be a great tool to talk about love and friendship, as well how different items can be reused!
Sock puppets anyone?!! Check out the Anderson press website for some great free “Odd socks” resources including instructions on how to make a sock puppet.
What is your child’s favourite book at the moment?
Happy reading xx
