“Fantastically Great women who changed the world” by Kate Pankhurst

When I first saw “Fantastically Great women who changed the world” by Kate Pankhurst, I was keen to get my hands on this book. It is great for Tom to see the amazing things women have done through history and also great for the girls I look after.

The book is about thirteen different woman who in their lives did inspiring things at different points in history, from Coco Chanel to Rosa Parks to Marie Curie. Each double page looks at the life of a different women and their amazing contribution. Each page is full of interest facts, presented in different formats including maps, letters and newspaper clippings which makes the book very engaging and fun to explore.

The book is so well done and I really like the range of women it includes – from different times in history, different cultures and the varied achievements they have made!

I think it could be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups, by reading some of key information to younger children and looking in more details with older children. Also older children could use it as an introduction to these women which they could then go onto research further. The book contains a glossary too.

There is definitely a women in this book that would interest any child. A must have addition to your bookshelf! Xx

P.S Another book on a similar theme that I would like to read is “Women in Science: 50 Fearless Pioneers who changed the world”.
