March is here, hurray the official start of Spring……….. Mother’s day…………St.Patrick’s day…….. so much to celebrate!
Here is my regular post that looks ahead at the month and suggests things you could read, create and love with your children. These things will focus on celebrating the season and special events in that month.
Books about Mummy’s:
Dino-Mummy by Mark Sperring Really cute Mummy story
Monkey Business by Julia Donaldson and A bit lost by Chris Haughton. Both lovely books that have a similar theme, I do love Monkey Business!
My Mum is a Supermum by Angela McAllister Check my post for more information.
My Mum by Anthony Browne Fantastic book about the role of a Mum
There are lots of lovely season books, check out my post about our favourites.
Love books World book day is on 3rd March, take time this month to share one of your childhood favourite books with your children. On World book day children come home from school with a book voucher to buy a special world book day book or put it toward any children’s book. Take the time to browse all the wonderful books we are so privileged to have in our book shops! Don’t forget to support independent book shops too.
Go on a daffodils walk! Celebrate St David’s day (1st March) by hunting for daffodils. How many can you find? How different types/ colours can you find? Where is the strangest place you can find daffodils? I love having daffodils around the home, so beautiful and cheery!
Spot signs of Spring When you are out about this month take time to spot the changes in the season, ever if it is just on your way to school! Check out this post about how we celebrate Spring?
Mother’s day! I guess the majority of the people reading this won’t be in charge of getting the kids to make or do anything for Mother’s day……. so maybe just hint hard!
Celebrate St Patrick’s Day! Why not head to a major city and experience the St Patrick’s Day celebrations, in London watch the parade on 19th March….. or you could cook Irish strew………… make some rainbow crafts……….or just enjoy Irelands number one children’s author (got to be, he-he) Oliver Jeffers!
Get into the garden Time to get in the garden to give it a tidy (or is that just mine!), children love to get involve… picking weeds…. sweeping…..prepare pots or beds for planting.
Well I hope you found this post useful! If you have got suggestions of things we should be doing in March let me know! Happy March everyone! xx
