“The bear who stared” by Duncan Beedie

“The bear who stared” is Duncan Beedie’s first picture book and what a great book it is! This book is about a bear who as the title suggests…… stares, but he only stares because is so inquisitive! He sees different animals in the forest and he is so curious that he goes up to them and just stares. The animals do NOT enjoy being stared at! Eventually with the help of a frog and his own reflection, he realise what he should do!

I really love this story particularly as a person with introvert tendencies, it talks about the little steps we can do which helps form friendships even if sometimes we don’t find it is easy. I think this would be great for any child but also a useful books to help support children who maybe finding social situations tricky.
