“Robin’s winter song” by Suzanne Barton is a wonderful gentle picture book which starts in autumn and moves through to Spring. The story is about a Robin who hears winter is coming but he is not sure what winter is. Robin’s friends start to prepare for winter in different ways which makes Robin decide he doesn’t like the sound of “winter”. However when winter does come Robin quickly finds out what joy winter and the changing seasons bring!
It is such a sweet story book which teaches children in a lovely simple way about some of the changes that occur during the different seasons. The illustrations are perfect and really help to support the narrative as well as a child’s understanding of the changing seasons.
A perfect introduction to the seasons for younger children, highly recommend! xxx
