Need: cardboard (I used a part of an empty box), newspaper, glue, black card, slightly watered down paint, watercolour paint (we used liquid but could use block), paint (we used paint in a squeezy bottle), optional: double sided tape, kitchen towel.

First I prepared a tree by cutting it out of card. The children glued small pieces of newspaper over it, when it was dry I trimmed around the edge. The children painted the tree with watercolour paint. To speed things up I then patted a kitchen towel over the top but you could wait for it to dry naturally before the children decorated the tree with paint. Next the children splattered painted over the black card with the watered down paint by gently tapping a paintbrush. When everything was dried I used double sided tape to stick the tree to the black card.
