“I’m forever blowing bubbles” artwork!

I love a spontaneous idea……

I love doing process art with children, I love it when we build up a piece of art with different media. This is a really simple example of this!

Need: Watercolour paper, liquid watercolours (though you could use block watercolours or food colouring in water), masking tape, black sharpie, circular objects to draw around, chalk pastels (but could use colouring pencils).Optional: tray and kitchen towel.

First I taped down the piece of paper to a tray and the children found circular objects and drew around them with the black sharpie. They then painted the background using liquid watercolours. Once they were happy with their painting, I blotted the paint using kitchen towel (this is optional – could allow to dry naturally). Then the children drew circles over the top using chalk pastels, rubbing the circles using our fingers to soften the colours. Carefully peel off the masking tape to reveal a beautiful bubbly piece of art!

Happy creating! xx
