We were inspired by the website “Art projects for kids” to make autumn match boxes! I love making things that encourage us to get outside in nature and explore!
Need: match box, paper, double sided tape (or glue), black pen and watercolour paint.
I prepared the paper by cutting two pieces of paper – one the size of the outside of the box and one to fit inside the box. The children then drew autumn trees or leaves with the black pen. Next, they painted over their picture with the watercolour paints. When it was dry we stuck the paper around and inside the matchbox. Finally we took our autumn box out to the park, to find autumn treasures, we found chestnuts!
Happy creating! xx
