This summer we are really enjoying making our own ice lollies. Tom loves being involved in the kitchen and gets very excited when he gets to taste something he has made. It is a cheaper option to buying ice cream or ice lollies and we know exactly what is in them. It is also a great way of using yoghurt close to the best before date or fruit that is going past its best!
We love using our smoothie maker and tend to just make our favourite smoothies and pour them into plastic lolly moulds, freeze then ready to enjoy!
Sometimes we simply whizz together bananas and milk or yoghurt.
When we are trying to be posh we whizz together strawberries and a little honey, put into the lolly mould then whizz mango with a bit of water and pour on top, then freeze.
Other combinations we enjoy our:
Strawberries, banana, yoghurt (plain or favoured) or milk.
Blueberries, banana, milk, honey, spinach, milk.
Strawberry, pineapple, banana and a little water.
There are masses of ideas on Pinterest……………
Do you make your own ice lollies? What are you favourite flavours?
Happy summer time everyone! xx
