Beach life!

I was brought up near the sea, though I don’t remember visiting it lots, however it was always there…. a constant…. a back drop to my childhood. Now I love spending time by the sea whenever possible ……. it brings me a real sense of calm and peace.

I think the beach is beautiful in any season, summer time on the beach is very special as we can spend longer periods of time just enjoying beach life!

Tom can spend hours just exploring shells and pebbles, building with the sand, making mini rock pools in his bucket, fishing with his little net, throwing stones into the sea, paddling and playing with his cars.

One of our favourite things to do is to search for treasures- amazing shells, pebbles and much more. We have a jar at home which we collect a few treasures from every trip to the beach.

With some of our treasures when we are home we use our chalk-pens to decorate them. Some we keep and some we like to give to friends and family.

We have started to collect shells and pebbles with a hole through it to make a special decoration for the garden.

With one of the stones with a hole through Tom decided to make it into a necklace.

From time to time we write in the sand or make words with our treasures.

To do list: We would like to try sticking our treasures into air dry clay to make a decoration…. watch this space!

What do you like to do at the beach? Do you bring treasures home? What do you do with them?

Hope you are having a wonderful summer! xx
