I am always looking for healthy snacks for myself and children. I generally feel healthier recipes are ok but I certainly don’t want to go back for more. However I tried this recipe for “Energy balls” and I loved them and had the urge for another one! The children loved helping to make their own snacks too!
1 cup of dates
¾ cup of oats
1 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp of almond butter (could you peanut butter)
1 tbsp of flaxseed
We used our Nutribullet to make our energy balls but you could use any food processor or blender. We placed all the ingredients into the blender, then pulsed it until the mixture formed into pieces or a ball. We then took small amounts of the mixture and formed it into balls. We put them into the fridge to set for 15 minutes and then enjoy! I like to keep mine in the fridge, when I feel like chocolate and I have one of these instead.
