Beautiful book “Abigail” by Catherine Rayner

Abigail by Catherine Rayner is a beautiful book, it combines counting within a really sweet story. The story is set in Africa, it is about a giraffe called Abigail who loves to count! She finds different things around her to count e.g. the ladybird spots and leaves on the tree. However sometimes it can be hard to count particularly when you are counting the stripes on a zebra who is on the move. Abigail’s friends are excited to help her count though they are not very good at counting yet. Abigail patiently teaches them and the story comes to a beautiful conclusion. The illustrations are simply stunning, works of art!

Such a lovely read, could be used to support counting or simply as a gentle bedtime story!
