There are certain things that draws children to books, for Tom it is definitely humour! He loves books that make him laugh, at the age of 5 years old this often involves poo! So when Tom was bought “The dinosaur that pooped a planet!” by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter he loved it!
“The dinosaur that pooped a planet!” is about a boy called Danny and his pet dinosaur, one day they are bored and decide to head to the science museum. They love the rockets and end up launching one on an intergalactic space mission! Out in space they realise they have forgotten their packed lunch, the dinosaur’s tummy begins to rumble and ‘a disastrous dinosaur feast’ begins! The dinosaur realises the consequences of his feast and can only think of one way of making it better………..!
Every time I read this book to children they laugh and laugh! The book contains lovely rhyme, which is fun to read. Children love the fact that the story starts in a familiar setting (e.g. the science museum) and builds to a dramatic end!!!! We have read a couple of the other books in the series at the library and they are equally as fun! Highly recommended! xxx
