This week we made homemade puffy paints for the first time, it is so easy and fun! Great to mix a little bit of science with art too!

Need:

1tbsp self-raising flour,

1tbsp salt

food colouring

water

card (we use broken up cardboard boxes)

It is lovely to make the paint with the children, if you have a group of children maybe give each child a colour or two to make themselves. The first thing to do is mix the flour and salt together in a small pot, then add a small amount of water and the colouring. Mix together, keep adding water until you have a yoghurt type consistency. Now it is ready to use- the children used cotton buds to paint with.

When the children have finished their picture, put it in the microwave for 30 secs, then you at the effect- all the children were wowed by the result!
