Another grown up book share “The children act” by Ian McEwan

I have just finished reading “The children act” by Ian McEwan, a long time ago I read one of his early books “On Chesil Beach”, so when I saw he had a new book in the book chart I was keen to read it. “The children act” is about a well-respected High Court judge, Fiona. The book focuses on a particular case where a 17 year old boy is refusing medical treatment that could save his life due to religious reasons. Fiona has to decide whether he lives or dies, she visits the boy in hospital which has a massive effect on both of them.

The story is both heart breaking and beautiful. Ian McEwan is a great writer, I find his books slow paced yet page turning at the same time!

Happy reading everyone! Any book recommendations? xxx
