I have seen this idea on the internet a lot and wanted to do it ….. firstly we didn’t have any stones…. then we collected stones at the beach…… then our oven broke….. but finally all fixed and we did it!!! I have to confess I may have enjoyed doing it more than the kids, very addictive! For more details check out the fab blog by the artful parent!
Need: stones, baking tray, foil, something to protect table (we used plates covered in foil), crayons (not too stubby).
So I covered a baking tray with foil then lay the stones on it. Place in the oven until hot!
When stones were hot I removed from oven and placed them on a plate covered in foil (but could use anything just need to protect the table). Then we got to work with our crayons placing them on the stones and seeing them melt, adding different colours, dotting, swirling and watching the effects! Beautiful, love it!
